Unlike old technology, water tanks that heat and reheat the same water 24 hours a day, Rinnai is more efficient because it only heats water when called for. With the Rinnai system it senses the demand for hot water flow and starts the water heating process. The water flows through a heat exchanger and is heated to the designated temperature set by the user. When the water source is turned off the Rinnai system automatically shuts off until it is called for again.
In comparison to a standard hot water tank a tankless system operates 70% more efficient than an electric tank and at least 50% more efficient comparing to a gas tank. With a Rinnai system you are able to reclaim precious space that is taken up by a standard tank as the Rinnnai unit is small and wall mountable. The unit operates with separate combustion venting that directs vents out of your home.
